Their Song

This is more about me figuring out how to embed You Tube videos, rather than a normal post. But there certainly is a lot of relevance in the clip. You see this was my parents song. If they were anywhere with enough room and this song was playing, they were dancing to it.

But I have always been under the assumption that this became their song while they were courting. But I learned that Ellington and Billy Strayhorn didn’t write the song until 1953. That’s three years after Mom and Dad were married.

Now that i seem to have figured out the video-embedding trick, there might be others. Especially if my plan on getting the family Super 8 films digitized happens. Along with the video tapes. Just another project I’ve been mulling over for years.
