Let me introduce the cast of characters. These are the central members of It’s All McRelative. You’re probably wondering why I named the blog as I did. Well mostly because both sides of my family’s surname begins with Mc. Plus It’s All Relative was already taken. So meet the McBeth and McWilliams families.
The McWilliams: Joanne (Mom), Ted, Clara (Gamby), Jack, and Marge.
I put the date of the above picture somewhere around 1949 or 50. My uncle Ted looks to be about 17-18 and he was born in 1932. This might very well be a photo taken during preparations of my parents’ wedding. I sigh looking at it, because they are all gone. Ted was the last, passing last year. Jack was a pilot in the USAAF during WW2, and was well decorated in the CBI theater. I plan on a few blog posts about him. On to the McBeths.
The McBeths: top row- Bob, Barbara, Harry Jr (dad), Joanne (mom), Bob, and Marilyn. Bottom row- Janice, Dorothy (Mom-Mom), Harry Sr (Pop-Pop), Rob, and Kathy (sister). Missing is my uncle Donny, who was serving in the army.
The patriarchal side of the family. Again there is no date, so I’m left to guess. I base it all on the toddler sitting in my Grandmothers lap. So it has to be 1952. I’m guessing its Christmas.
So that’s the roots, although they go deeper. I plan on talking about all parts of this McRelative tree.
